SourceOffSite Client by SourceGear LLC is a remote access client for Microsoft Visual SourceSafe (VSS). It connects to a SourceOffSite Server to provide fast, secure access to VSS repositories over the Internet or other wide-area networks, preserving the familiar VSS workflow for distributed teams.

Key capabilities:

• Executes core VSS operations remotely, including get, check in/check out, add, delete, rename, label, and branching where supported by VSS.
• Uses encrypted communication and compression to improve performance and protect data over high-latency connections.
• Offers a responsive graphical client with integrated or external diff/merge tools for code review and conflict resolution.

• Works through a single configurable TCP port to simplify firewall and proxy setup.
